Indian farmers- benefit from exports

Now many Wheat Farmers in India will have more profit this year. This year, when Russia attacked Ukraine, due to which the global supply chain was affected.

Recently interview to (Commerce and Industry Minister)

He said “The Officials who came from Egypt’s pest risk analysis and agriculture quarantine visited a lot of processing units, port facilities, and farms in the state of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. And said that we have decided to export the best quality of wheat.”

Egypt will bring at least 1 million tons of Wheat from India, of which 240000 tons will be shipped in April itself. But this is a very small quantity of the total annual wheat purchases by the African country, like Russia, Ukraine, and other countries that used to take at least 10-12 million tons of wheat from us.

It is a very good thing for the Government of India and Wheat Farmers that now India will send Wheat to Egypt.

But now wheat is being sold at a higher rate than the MSB (Minimum Support Price) rate in some places of the country in India. At present, the price of wheat is being sold at a price ranging from 2100-to 2500. Wheat Farmers hope that in the coming days, they will get an increase in wheat. The government has fixed RMS (Rabi Market Season) Rs. 2015 per quintal for RMS (Minimum Support Price) 2022-23.

Last year, the government procured a record 433 KMT wheat. Jun 1976-2022, with 47 observations, Wheat data is updated yearly, averaging 550. INR/Quintal in India Minimum Support Price. Rabi Crops. Now the farmers are stocking more wheat. They have full hope that the price will increase.

PROBLEMS

However, several attacks in Russia and Ukraine have had an impact on the Global Supply Chain. Out of which the Wheat Farmers of our country is one, in exports been seen a lot since the 24 February (Russia and Ukraine) War. Russia and Ukraine and other African countries will purchase the wheat in a higher level of quantity.

Farmers had a lot of trouble earlier due to COVID-19. After the implementation of Lockdown, farmers had a lot of stock that they could not sell. The Government also did not want to stock, why all the impact exports were closed.

In 2020-21 MSP (Minimum Supply Price) is Rs. 1975 per quintal. The cost of production of wheat is estimated at Rs. 1008 per quintal, the release said on 08-09-2021.
